If you were born in the 90s or later, I’m going to say there’s a 90 percent chance you don’t know how to drive a car with a manual transmission. My car has paddle shifters and you can put it into “manual” mode, but there’s no clutch and the computer takes over if you don’t shift in time, so you’re really just playing around.
My dad has a 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser, so I asked him to teach me how to drive it. Surprisingly, it was pretty easy, but it was way more work than I want to do every time I drive. I drove about 8 miles total, and didn’t have any trouble. I’d also like to drive my grandpa’s old car — a 1933 Chevy sedan — to see how it compares.

I won’t be switching to a manual car anytime soon (or probably ever), but it’s a skill I’m glad to have and another item ticked off of the list.
Go fishing with my grandpa.
Pretty much everything on my list were things I had not done before. But before you ask — yes, I have been fishing before. I just haven’t been in a long time.
We decided to go to DeGray Lake. We were there for a couple of hours, and despite seeing a lot of fish jumping, we didn’t get a single bite! We tried here, there, everywhere; we used lures, minnows, worms.
Fish 1, Wards 0. To be continued…
