For my roommate Tanner’s birthday back in March, I told him I would take him zip lining. It only took us about five months to work it into the schedule, but we finally went a few weeks ago.

We had hoped to go to Rowdy Adventure Park in southwest Arkansas, where he had gone several years ago, but those people must be hiding wherever Hillary Clinton’s emails are, because there are no signs of life at that place. Instead, we decided on AdventureWorks Zip Line Park at Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs.

AdventureWorks has 12 zip lines that total over a mile, along with a couple of sky bridges and observation points. Much of it is over a creek area that runs into Lake Catherine, and it was a ton of fun!

I had regretting not going zip lining while I was in Costa Rica a few years ago, so I was really looking forward to trying it out here. The first jump was a little intimidating, but once you’re gliding 100 feet above the forest floor, it was all worth it.

Some lines were shorter, some were longer. Some weren’t as high, some were pretty darn high. Most of them were pretty quick. And all of them were a ton of fun — well worth the drive to Hot Springs for the afternoon.

Happy Birthday, Tanner.
